France and Italy 2013 Photos
This trip consisted of 6 days motorcycle riding beginning/ending in Kaiserslautern Germany and traveling 2800 kilometers. Day 1 was Germany, France, and Switzerland. Day 2 was France. Day 3 was France and Italy. Day 4 was France. Day 5 was France and Italy. Day 6 was Italy (start), Switzerland and Germany.
Day 5 - France and Italy. This was a longer day, about 359 miles. I departed Barcelonnette heading north-by-northeast towards Italy and then Switzerland. I stopped for the night at the top of the Grand Saint Bernard Pass just before the Italian-Swiss border. The roads were a mix of country/mountain and autoroute/autostrada before and after Torino.
This is my attempt to take a photo in the Tunnel Frejus. I took the autoroute/autostrada to get around Torino Italy. It cost 27 Euros to drive through the tunnel and the temperature was close to 100F. Smokey too. Worst tunnel I've been through, but it did allow me to make a lot of time getting through Torino and up to Aosta.
